President Emeritus of HKBU Dr Daniel C.W. Tse Conferred 2021 Honorary Doctorate Degree by Macau University of Science and Technology in 2021

Dr Daniel C.W. Tse, President Emeritus of HKBU

Dr Daniel C.W. Tse, President Emeritus of Hong Kong Baptist University, was recently conferred an 2021 Honorary Doctorate Degree by Macau University of Science and Technology, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to, and support for the community at large.

Dr Tse is an outstanding educator, who has made significant contributions to the higher education sector in Hong Kong and Macau for more than four decades, in his capacity first as President of HKBU and later, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Macau. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1977, Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1986 and Honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1991. He was also awarded Gold Bauhinia Star by the HKSAR Government in 1998, and the Medal of Merit for Education by the Macau SAR Government in 2014. His wide range of contributions to higher education in the international arena of Australia, China, the United Kingdom and the United States have earned him eleven honorary doctorates and three honorary professorships. Congratulations to Dr Tse!

Alumni Affairs Office Congratulates Alumnus Edmund Au for Conferment of Honorary University Fellowship by HKBU

Alumnus Edmund Au (Business Management), General Manager of Prior Global Asset Management Group Limited, was recently conferred the Honorary University Fellowship by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to, and support for the University and society at large.

Under his leadership, Prior Global Asset Management Group Limited has initiated a community development project in 2016 to assist low-income families in Hong Kong through offering them low-rent housing. Alumnus Au also cares about the nurturing of future leaders, and to that end, supported the University in the establishment of the Prior Scholarship Fund for Outstanding BBA Students and the Prior Scholarship Fund for Outstanding Mainland Students. A loyal and dedicated alumnus, he renders his support for, and wise counsel to HKBU, in his capacity as the Honorary President and Director of the HKBU Foundation and member of the Foundation’s Entrepreneur Committee.

To show support for alumnus Au, Director of Alumni Affairs Dr Melanie Lee conveyed to him in person her heartfelt congratulation, and that of the University. Congratulations to alumnus Au!

Alumnus Tsui Kam-yiu Awarded the Outstanding Support of Alumni Community Award by the University of Dundee

Alumnus Tsui Kam-yiu

Alumnus Tsui Kam-yiu (Civil Engineering), President of HKBU Alumni Association- Civil Engineering Graduates Association, was awarded on 24 August the Outstanding Support of Alumni Community Award by the University of Dundee in Scotland, in recognition of his support for and efforts in inspiring the alumni community to get connected with the University of Dundee, and his significant contributions to the advancement of the global international community within the institution. Congratulations to alumnus Tsui!
