Alumni Showcase Talents in Golfing at “HKBU • ASHWORTH Golf Day 2022”
The annual “HKBU • ASHWORTH Golf Day 2022” was successfully held on 4 November at the Eden Course of The Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. The event, which provides an excellent opportunity for alumni to enjoy the sport, attracted an overwhelming support from alumni and friends of HKBU. The event is also meant to raise funds in support of the strategic development of the University. This year, golf loving alumni formed a total of eight teams to participate in the tournament and showcase their talent on the golf course. The event has not only provided a chance for participating alumni to strengthen ties with their alma mater, but also has allowed them to rekindle fellowship among alumni. This year, the event has received tremendous support from the following alumni:
Diamond Sponsor:
- Alumnus Norman Wu (Business Management)
Golf Cart Sponsor:
- Alumnus Lau Pak-shing (Business Management)
Gold Sponsor:
- Alumnus So Wing-kin (Civil Engineering)
Silver Sponsors:
- Baptist Chemists
- Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association (five teams)
- Alumnus Professor William Leung (English Language & Literature)
- Alumnus Alfred Tang (Accounting)
- Alumnus Norman Wu (Business Management)
As in previous years, the alumni golfers all put up their best effort to compete for the awards. After rounds of vigorous competition, the Baptist Chemists Team won the Alumni Cup championship for the third consecutive year, while the first and second runners-up were captured by the College Boys Team and HKBUAA – Stars Team respectively.
Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association (HKBUAA) has been a staunch supporter of the HKBU Golf Day since 2011. This year, HKBUAA has organised five teams to participate in the tournament, and together they have won, in addition to the group trophy above, a few individual trophies. Through this year’s participation, HKBUAA has managed to raise a total of HK$159,000 for the University. It is heartening to learn that HKBUAA has, over the years and through this Golf Day event, made an accumulated contribution amount of near one million dollars for the University.
