HKBU Century Club Annual General Meeting 2024 cum Dinner Gathering

Participating alumni and guests enjoy the dinner to the full.
HKBU Century Club (the Club) hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2024 cum dinner gathering at Regal Kowloon Hotel on 6 January. The event was honoured by the attendance of Mr Paul Poon and Mr Kevin Liem, Deputy Chairman and Treasurer of the Council and the Court; Ms Rosanna Choi, former Treasurer of the Council and the Court; President Emeritus Dr Daniel Tse and his spouse Mrs Kitty Tse; two President Emeritus, namely Professor Roland Chin and Professor Ng Ching-fai; Professor Alexander Wai, President and Vice-Chancellor; Ms Christine Chow, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary; Professor Zhang Han, Dean of School of Business; Professor So Shu-kong, Head of Department of Physics; alumni Professor James Tsien (Business Management) and Wong Nga-chung (Business Management); Dr Melanie Lee, Director of Alumni Affairs, along with numerous other alumni and guests.
During the AGM, Patron and President of the Club alumna Dr Marianna Tsang (Secretarial Management), who would step down from serving as the Club’s President, delivered her President’s Report on the Club’s activities and accomplishments over the past year. She took the opportunity to express her heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors, Patrons, the committee members, the Honorary Auditor Patrick Wong CPA and production team of the drama performance “Malan Flower Blooms”, the Honorary Auditor Patrick Wong CPA and the Alumni Affairs Office for their support to the Club throughout the years.
After that, alumnus Professor James Tsien, Chairman of Election Committee, conducted the election of the new Board of Directors for the term of 2024 to 2026. The following members were unanimously elected to serve on the Board:

Patrick Wong CPA Limited was reappointed as Honorary Auditor for the new Board.
After the AGM, alumna Esther Wong, new President of the Club, with alumna Dr Marianna Tsang warmly welcomed new members: alumni Chan Chek-biu (Communication), Mok Yuen-kwan (Public Administration), Dr Mui Kwong-chiu (Communication- Film/Video) and Mr Kwok Shiu-ming into the Club. Each new member was presented with a membership pin and a certificate as a token of appreciation.
Alumnus Herman Lau Tak-wan (Sociology) made a generous donation to the University in support of the HKBU Century Club Sponsorship Scheme 2024, earning the title of Patron of the Club. During the dinner, alumnus Lau Pak-shing accepted a certificate of appreciation from the Club on behalf of Herman Lau.
HKBU Century Club Sponsors Penang Adventure Tour 2024-2025

Under the “HKBU Century Club Alumnus Herman LAU Sponsorship Scheme 2024”, the Club sponsored the Leadership Qualities Centre of the Office of Student Affairs in organising Adventure Tour 2024-2025 in Penang, Malaysia from 3 to 8 January. The six-day tour aimed to encourage HKBU students to break through their limits and embrace challenges through a series of exciting activities.
Before the tour, HKBU students participated in a positive psychology workshop to learn how to cultivate a positive mindset. Upon returning to Hong Kong, they shared their experiences with 16 children, emphasising the importance of a positive mindset. Alumna Dr Marianna Tsang (Secretarial Management), Patron and Past President/Ex-officio Director of the Club, attended the sharing.
