HKBU Alumni Association Organises the “BUAA & Friends” Forum and Networking Event
HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA) co-organised a business networking event, titled “BUAA & Friends: Talent gathering”, with HKBU Career Centre on 16 March on HKBU campus, attracting nearly 150 alumni, students and guests to attend.
The event was kickstarted by a sharing from the keynote speaker Mr Huen Kwok-chuen, Executive Director (Brand Spokesperson) of EGL Tours, who was connected by alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA. Mr Huen shared his experiences of how he could survive the challenges and grasp the opportunities in crisis with his partners during the difficult times. Mr Martin Wong, Adjunct Professor of the School of Business was invited as the moderator. The sharing was followed by a Q & A session which allowed participants to interact with Mr Huen and alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong.
After the sharing session, participants had the opportunity to mingle and connect with nearly 40 representatives from various industries, while enjoying the delectable canapés and drinks.
HKBU Alumni Association and HKBU School of Business Alumni Association Join Hands to Organise a Workshop on Key Opinion Leader
Co-organised by HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA), HKBU School of Business Alumni Association (SBAA) and HKBU Career Centre, a workshop titled “I want to be a KOL 2024”, was held on 13 March on campus, with over 20 alumni and students attended. KOL instructor Miss Nicole Wu and KOL Miss Tiffany Choi were invited to share insights into the industry’s daily operations, tips on leveraging KOL for business development and the path to become a successful KOL. The workshop was well received by the attending alumni and students who actively raised questions to the two speakers.
HKBU Alumni Association Co-organises Company Visits in Shenzhen
HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA) jointly organised company visits in Shenzhen with the HKBU Career Centre, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter, HKBU School of Business Alumni Association and UIC Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter. Two company visits were arranged on 25 January and 29 February respectively, attracting a total of nearly 200 alumni and students to join.
Led by alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA, participants visited UBTech Robotics Corp. Ltd. in the first visit and the Shenzhen office of Beijing ByteDance Technology Co. Ltd. in the second visit. The events enabled participating alumni and students to gain a better understanding of the industry, broadening their horizons.
Luncheon was arranged during the visits for participants to get to know and make connections with each other, strengthening the bonding between BUers of different generations and regions.

HKBU Alumni Association President Hosts Gathering for HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter
On 23 March, HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA) organised a gathering with HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shenzhen Chapter. Alumnus Dr Jacinto Tong (Chemistry), President of HKBUAA, hosted the gathering at his residence, and the gathering was also graced by the presence of Professor Cheng Yuk-shing, Interim Dean of the School of Business. Participants had a fruitful discussion during the meeting, proactively exploring potential collaboration opportunities in the near future.
