Three Honorary University Fellows Elected Deputies of the HKSAR to the 14th National People's Congress

Congratulations to three Honorary University Fellows of HKBU, namely Mr Tommy Li Ying-sang, The Hon Mr Ma Fung-kwok and Ms Eileen Tsui Li, who were elected Deputies of the HKSAR to the 14th National People’s Congress on 15 Dec 2022. The terms of the delegates will commence in 2023 for five years.

Alumnus Professor Chan Wing-kwong

Alumnus Professor Chan Wing-kwong (Chinese Medicine), HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Chairman of the Hong Kong Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association, the Federation of the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Chinese Medicines Traders Association, and the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (Hong Kong) Council Members Association, was elected to the Seventh Legislative Council of the HKSAR as a member representing the Election Committee Constituency. The term of office of the legislature commenced on 19 December 2022. Congratulations to alumnus Prof Chan!

HKBU Badge shines at the polar region.

Alumnus Wilson Cheung (Physical Education and Recreation Management), who is the world’s first Chinese polar guide and has been named as one of The Explorers Club 50 honorees in 2022, recently brought an HKBU Badge with him during his exploration trip at the South Pole, wishing BUers brave the wind and the billows in the new year.

Alumna Ho Yuen-kei Rises to No. 1 in the Women's BC3 Individual World Ranking

Alumna Ho Yuen-kei

Alumna Ho Yuen-kei (China Studies), who won the individual gold medal at the Bahrain World Boccia Cup in November 2022, rose to No. 1 in the Women’s BC3 individual world ranking following the match. Continuing to perform well, alumna Ho won 2 bronze medals in the BC3 individual and pairs competition of the 2022 World Boccia Championships which was held in December 2022. Congratulations to alumna Ho!
