HKBU Alumni Association – Civil Engineering Graduates Association Holds Annual Dinner cum 40th Anniversary Celebration

2022 marked the 40th Anniversary of the HKBU Alumni Association – Civil Engineering Graduates Association. To celebrate this special occasion, the Association held an Annual Dinner cum 40th Anniversary Celebration on 6 December 2022 at the Cityview Hotel. The dinner was well attended by over 60 alumni and guests.
At the dinner, alumnus Tsui Kam-yiu, President of the Association, presented the 60th Anniversary commemorative publication and a commemorative pin of the Faculty of Science, HKBU, as souvenirs to participants. Also, alumni Ir Eric Chan and Ir Victor Lo were invited to share their valuable insights with guests.
All attending alumni were delighted to reunite with their old friends and treasured the opportunity to catch up with each other and recall their fond memories at this annual get-together.

HKBU Economics Alumni Association Holds Annual General Meeting 2022

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of HKBU Economics Alumni Association was held on 29 December 2022 and was attended by alumni including Chairman Matthew Tse, Vice-Chairman Dr Ignatius So, Honorary Secretary Alberta Sie, Membership Officer Michael Ho and Auditor Jacob Yeung. The AGM was also graced by the presence of Professor Cheng Yuk-shing, Professor of the Department of Economics, who came over to support the Association. Looking ahead, the Executive Committee members will strive to strengthen the alumni network in the years to come.

Established in 2007, the HKBU Social Work Learning and Exchange Foundation Fund aims at providing experiential learning opportunities and enhancing the professionalism in social work through offering financial support to alumni and students, sponsoring their social welfare fieldwork, exchange programmes and overseas internships, etc.
The Fund supports social work students to join a mentorship programme with senior alumni as mentors. Over 500 students have been benefited from the Programme since its launch. The Fund also publishes the book Social Welfare Speaks (《會說話的社會福利》) in 3 volumes, featuring the stories of 65 alumni from different generations on their insights and wisdom.
In celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Foundation Fund, a dinner gathering was held on campus on 25 November 2022. Around 100 alumni attended the gathering, including 30 interviewees of the book.
The 18th Annual General Meeting of the HKBU Social Work Alumni Association was also held on the occasion, during which members of the Executive Committee were elected.
