HKBU Rowing Club Alumni Association Shines in The Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2018
HKBU Rowing Club Alumni Association (Rowing Club AA) participated in The Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2018 on 18 and 19 August at Shing Mun River, Sha Tin. Rowing Club AA enrolled in the Alumni Women’s 8+ race and won the champion again. Alumni Kwok Kwan-ting Kelvin (Sport & Recreation Leadership), Kwok Kin-ting Ken (Sport & Recreation Leadership), and Lo Ting-wai (Sport & Recreation Leadership) attentively guided the students through hardship during summer training and competed in the Championships. The students received a total of 8 awards in 10 races. Such great results also secured the team the second Overall Champion title in Men’s Overall, Women’s Overall and Overall respectively. What’s more, final year student Lin Cheuk-ngai (Computer Science, Year 4), who represented Hong Kong in the 2018 World University Championships, scooped gold medals in Men’s Single Sculls and Double Sculls in the Championships. The achievement was a showcase of strong team spirit and sportsmanship, upholding the Rowing Club AA’s motto of "BU Teamwork". |

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia Holds a Gathering
On 6 July, HKBU Alumni Association of Australia held a gathering at King Dynasty in Chatswood, Sydney, which was attended by President of the Association alumnus Sidney Cheng, Vice-President alumnus Lawrence Chan, and members Augustus Ho and his spouse, Clara Cheng, Henie Tsang, Richard Lam and his spouse Mabel Lam, Leung Ting-chun and his spouse Chan Bun-yee, and Judy Mui.
HKBU Alumni Association of Australia would like to invite alumni, retired and former academic and administrative staff of the University, who are now residing in Australia to join the Association. HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Organises a Visit to Hitachi Elevator (China) Co.,Ltd.
On 13 July, HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association organised a visit to Hitachi Elevator (China) Co.,Ltd. which was attended by over 20 alumni. Director of Office of The President of Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd alumna Ren Jun represented Hitachi to share with participants the corporate values of Hitachi in operations and human resources management. Attending alumni benefitted a lot from the visit by understanding the corporate culture and success factors of Hitachi. |

HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Organises a Sharing Session on “Human Resources and Jewellery Appreciation”
HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association organised a sharing session themed “Human Resources and Jewellery Appreciation” on 25 July. Ms. Xu Xiaohong, an expert in both Human resources management and jewellery appreciation, was invited to speak at the sharing session. Riding on her wide experience, Ms. Xu shared with participants the tips of selecting right talents for organisations. The event was well attended by more than 15 alumni. |

Football Team of HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association Shines at the MBA Alumni Football Match Organised by Lingnan (University) College
On 28 July, Football Team of HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association attained good results at the Fifth MBA Alumni Football Match organised by Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University. It got three wins, one draw and one loss in total and finally scooped the Third place in the Football Match. |
