Baptist Chemists and Department of Chemistry co-organised a Korea Study Tour from 18 to 22 May. Led by representative of Baptist Chemists Ms Mok Sin-hing and three faculty members, Emeritus Prof. Chan Wing-hong, Prof. Wong Man-shing, Ricky and Dr Li Hung-wing, over 20 Chemistry undergraduate students joined the tour.
The 5-day tour has provided the participants with diversified learning experience and activities. Other than having academic and cultural exchange with students and teachers of Kangwon National University, participants also conducted field water test at the Cheonggyecheon Stream for a famous restoration project in Seoul, and visited the Incheon Refuse Treatment Plant to learn the related techniques and knowledge.
On the other hand, participants also seized the opportunity to visit some of the famous cultural scenic spots in South Korea, including the Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village, Samcheng-dong, Insadong, and National Folk Museum of Korea, making the tour more fun-filling.
This is the fourth consecutive year Baptist Chemists funded and co-organised the overseas study tour with the Department of Chemistry. They will continue their efforts to work with the Department in nurturing undergraduate students with all-rounded skills and knowledge, and providing them with varied learning opportunities both inside and outside classrooms.
