30 members from HKBU Social Work Alumni Association (SOWKAA) and a class representative of Social Work participated in a BBQ dinner gathering on 31 July 2014 at Shiu Pong Hall with the presence of President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S. C. Chan, Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu, Head of Social Work Department Prof. Petrus Ng, as well as academic staff of Social Work Department Prof. Victor Wong and Dr. Simon Chan and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee.
Members of the SOWKAA including President Mr. Yau How-boa, SBS, MH, JP, Vice-President Mr. Lam Shiu-kau, Vice-President Ms. Angel Ng and President of HKBU Social Work Learning & Exchange Foundation Fund Prof. Chan Kai-fong were also present to exchange views with the management of the University.
During the BBQ dinner, alumni had a great time sharing their recent development. Prof. Albert S.C. Chan thanked SOWKAA for their continuous support to the alma mater and encouraged the young alumni to participate in the activities organised by the Association and the University.
