HKBU Alumni Association Co-organises Seminar on Hong Kong Property Market Analysis with SBAA and Other Universities

Ten alumni associations from local universities jointly organised a dinner talk themed “Hong Kong Property Market Analysis” on 13 August 2013 at the Hong Kong Bankers Club. HKBU alumnus Dr. Jacinto Tong Man-leung, Chief Executive Officer of Gale Well Group Limited, and Dr. James Sung Lap-kung, Academic Coordinator of School of Continuing and Professional Education and Chairman of The Social and Economic Policy Institute, were invited to share insights on Hong Kong’s property market from the perspectives of investment and macroeconomics.

About 60 alumni and friends attended the seminar in which Dr. Tong shared that HKSAR Government’s post cooling measures drove the property transactions to stagnation, and most investors would keep observing the market situation or even looking for other investment opportunities in countries like Japan and Taiwan. Dr. Sung,on the other hand, made a prediction on Hong Kong property market situation from economic and political perspectives, that the property market would remain stable in the next 1 to 2 years due to sustainable support from Mainland investors, and that HKSAR Government would not dismiss the post cooling measures in the near future.
