Organised by HKBU Century Club and produced by HKBU Alumni Theatre, the “Drama Reading I: Verdict / The Shadow Box” was staged on 19 September at the studio of Bread-TV in Kwun Tong. The event was also broadcast live online. Numerous alumni from the performing art sector, including alumni Simon Ngai (Communication), Maria Lee (Chinese Language & Literature), Yeung Ying-wai (Chinese Language & Literature), Theresa Tang (Communication) and Audrey Winsome Tang (Communication), took part at the event. Special guests participating in the event included Ms. Patra Au, Mr. Stephen Chan and Mr. Jeoffrey Wong.
Established in September 2020, HKBU Alumni Theatre aims to engage HKBU alumni and other performing art supporters through its platforms of theatre arts and other drama related activities. The society also wants to raise funds through staging performances for HKBU in support of its development. At this very first event of HKBU Alumni Theatre, members held a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate both the establishment of the Alumni Theatre and the birthday of alumnus Kent Tsui (Communication), Chairman of the Alumni Theatre.
