Recent Activities of HKBU Alumni Association of the Greater Bay Area
 
The Organising Committee of Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association of the Greater Bay Area (HKBUGBAAA) Co-organises Sharing Session on Real Estate Industry

Initiated by the Organising Committee of the HKBUGBAAA and the HKBU UIC Alumni Association (Shenzhen), and co-organised by the HKBU MBA (China) Alumni Association, the HKBU MScBM Alumni Association and the HKBU School of Business Alumni Association, a sharing session on real estate industry was held at the HKBU Institute for Research and Continuing Education in Shenzhen on 20 July. The first joint gathering of these alumni associations was joined by their presidents, as well as alumni working in the real estate industry, surveying sector, and the Industrial Park.

The Eighth Meeting of the Organising Committee of HKBUGBAAA

The Organising Committee of HKBUGBAAA held its eighth meeting on 31 August and announced that the Association obtained approval from the University for the use of its title, emblem and logo in the Association’s business. After one year’s effort, the Organising Committee of HKBUGBAAA achieved its mission with the official establishment of HKBUGBAAA. At the first Executive Committee meeting of the HKBUGBAAA, alumnus Dr. Vincent Ho (Communication) was elected the founding President of the Association. Each of the Executive Committee members received a certificate of appointment from President Dr. Ho at the meeting.

The First Executive Committee comprises the following members:

The HKBUGBAAA serves as a platform for connecting alumni working or residing in the Greater Bay Area, as well as for helping to fulfill the historic mission of enhancing the integration and inclusion of the Greater Bay Area.

HKBUGBAAA Participates in the 13th Anniversary Celebration of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association

On 18 September, founding President of HKBUGBAAA Dr. Vincent Ho participated in the 13th Anniversary Celebration of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association and met with Chairman of HKBU Council and Court Dr. Clement Chen, President of the HKBU School of Business Alumni Association alumnus Bernard Wu (Accounting), Vice-President of HKBU Century Club alumnus Philip Kan (Business Management) and alumnus Claudius Chan (Business Management).

HKBUGBAAA Co-organises a forum on “Setting Up of a Pilot Demonstration Area in Shenzhen”

HKBUGBAAA co-organised a forum on the “Setting up of a Pilot Demonstration Area in Shenzhen” with several enterprises and Qianhai Industry Think Tank on 21 September. At the forum, Deputy Secretary of the China Association for International Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce Prof. Qiang Hong shared his views on the future development of the Greater Bay Area.

HKBUGBAAA was the only alumni association among higher education institutions in the area that participated in the event. It was also the first time that HKBUGBAAA worked with a notable think tank in the region. HKBUGBAAA would endeavour to enhance collaboration with regional think tanks in the future, so as to provide alumni with up-to-date information on the development potentials of the Greater Bay Area.
