HKBU Alumni Association of Macau Celebrates the Birthday of Dr. Daniel Tse, Emeritus President of HKBU
On 6 October, HKBU Alumni Association of Macau celebrated the birthday of Dr. Daniel Tse, Emeritus President of HKBU, at MGM Macau. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Wilfred Wong, President and Chief Operating Officer of Sands China Limited cum Chairman Emeritus of the HKBU Foundation and Chair Prof. Liu Liang, President of Macau University of Science and Technology. Over 70 alumni and friends across different generations from Hong Kong and Macau also attended the dinner to share the happiness.
Alumnus Paul Pang (Mathematics), President of HKBU Alumni Association of Macau, said in his welcome remarks at the dinner that the connections between alumni in Macau and Hong Kong would be further strengthened. On behalf of the guests, alumnus Dr. Liu Chak-wan (Honorary University Fellow; English Language & Literature), Supervisor General of HKBU Alumni Association of Macau and Chancellor of Macau University of Science and Technology presented a birthday card and a gift to Dr. Tse in appreciation of his contribution to HKBU over the years. In return, Dr. Tse thanked the arrangement of HKBU Alumni Association of Macau and delivered red packets to all guests. |

HKBU Alumni Association of Ontario Shares the Happiness of Setting a New Guinness World Record
Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni (Ontario), of which HKBU Alumni Association of Ontario (HKBUAAO) is a member, set a new Guinness World Record of most people bouncing table tennis balls on table tennis rackets for 10 seconds at a single venue in Oct 2017. The 343 participants broke the previous record made by 250 people. Guinness World Records recently confirmed the achievement and issued the official certificate to recognize the record holder status.
Alumnus Alfred Au-yeung, Chairman of HKBUAAO, thanked alumna Sophia Chan, ex-Co-Chairperson of Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni (Ontario) for spending tremendous effort in making this Guinness World Record achievement a success. To thank the tremendous effort that HKBUAAO has devoted, Hong Kong Joint Universities Alumni (Ontario) has unanimously agreed for HKBUAAO to keep the Guinness World Records certificate.

HKBU School of Business Alumni Association Organises “Gateway to Big Four” Seminar
HKBU School of Business Alumni Association organised its annual signature event, “Gateway to Big Four” Seminar, on 9 September with over 150 students attended. Seven alumni who are working in the “Big Four” shared with participants the requirements and application procedures of Big Four accounting firms as well as their winning tips in the recruitment process. Attending participants gained a lot from their insightful sharing. Part two of the event is mock interview sessions conducted by alumni from the Big Four accounting firms to be held in October.

HKBU MScBM Alumni Association Organises Alumni Sharing Session for Freshmen
On 13 September, Hong Kong Baptist University MScBM Alumni Association (MScBM AA) organised an alumni sharing session themed “Preparation for Learning and Living in Hong Kong”. The sharing session was well attended by more than 40 freshmen from the MScBM class. To get freshmen well prepared for their learning and living in Hong Kong, five alumni from MScBM AA including President Elise Guo, Vice-President Emma Zhou, Honorary Secretary Joe Qiao, members Cindy Yin and Woody Wu shared their experience and smart tips in adapting to the culture and environment in Hong Kong. |

HKBU MBA Alumni Association and HK PolyU MBA Alumni Association have jointly organized a basketball friendly match on 3 October, with an aim to strengthen the connections between the two teams.
HKBU MBA Alumni Association will hold a Happy Hour gathering for alumni and friends on 19 October. Please refer to the poster for details. |
