On 16 November, HKBU conferred Honorary Doctoral degrees on Prof. Dame Wendy Hall, Prof. Ng Ching-fai, Dr. Harry Shum and Dr. Raymond R. Wong at the 2020 Commencement and Honorary Doctoral Degree Conferment Ceremony in recognition of their outstanding professional achievements in their fields and remarkable contributions to society.

The University hosted its Council Dinner in honour of Honorary Doctorate Recipients after the Conferment Ceremony with the graceful presence of 2020 Honorary Doctorate Recipients, Prof. Ng Ching-fai and Dr. Raymond R. Wong, and 2019 Honorary Doctorate Recipients, Dr. Cheng Yan-kee and Dr. Stanley Yim. In his welcome remarks, Chairman of the Council and the Court Dr. Clement Chen conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the Honorary Doctorate Recipients and expressed his deep appreciation to their staunch support to the University.

As President Prof. Roland Chin is going to retire as the President of HKBU by the end of this year, Chairman Chen, in appreciation of his tremendous contribution to the University during his tenure, gave a vote of thanks to him. On behalf of the University, Chairman Chen also presented a glass artwork which was specially made by alumna Tammy Chan (Visual Arts) as a memento to President Chin.

The finale of the evening was a delightful singing performance by alumna Becky Lee (Music). Her stunning performance brought all guests a very enjoyable evening.
