Over 500 alumni of different faculties and schools, staff and friends gathered on HKBU campus to join in the Homecoming Day 2015 festivities themed after “Dreams of Flying Colours” on 24 October 2015.
Organised by the Alumni Affairs Office, the Homecoming Day 2015 kicked off with HKBU Alumni Soccer-Seven, followed by Fun Campus Tour, Fun-filled Tea Reception, and Alumni Investiture Ceremony before coming to a successful close with the Dreams of Flying Colours Reunion Dinner.
As the kick-off programme, HKBU Alumni Soccer-Seven was successfully held at Joint Sports Centre. There were 15 teams, over 200 alumni and staff participating to showcase HKBU sportsmanship whereby MBA alumni from Mainland China joined the match for the first time. HKBU Alumni Association has sponsored the event for five consecutive years.
Soon after the Fun Campus Tour, which was joined by some 30 alumni of various graduation years and disciplines together with their friends and families, the Fun-filled Tea Reception was held, at which senior management of the University welcomed alumni by presenting the seven graduate attributes through a dynamic art jam session. Alumni who graduated in 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985 and 1990 received name-engraved medals from Professor Roland Chin, President and Vice-Chancellor, at the Alumni Investiture Ceremony, a unique HKBU tradition that recognises alumni’s contribution to society over the years. The Dreams of Flying Colours Reunion Dinner was held in the evening with the participation of over 500 alumni from more than 20 departments, six different decades and 12 Alumni Associations. They gathered with HKBU students, academic and administrative staff and University management to enjoy the sizzling poon choi dinner and exciting performances.
For the first time, a carnival was also staged together with the School of Business, which provided an opportunity for alumni to gather with cherished members of the HKBU family. Participants joined a series of leisure and parenting activities on a joyful and memorable Saturday.
