The Inauguration of the 2020-2021 Class Representatives was held on 15 April on campus. Around 40 newly appointed Class Representatives attended the event and made acquaintance with one another at the gathering.
During the event, Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee delivered a welcome speech to the new Class Representatives and stressed that each of them would assume the role as a bridge between their fellow classmates and the University. Colleagues of the Alumni Affairs Office (AAO) also gave an introduction on the Class Representatives Scheme and announced the upcoming activities of AAO to the Class Representatives.
During the inauguration ceremony, each Class Representative was presented a Certificate of Appointment. As the grand finale, all the Class Representatives came on stage to pledge their support to the Scheme and vowed to fulfill their given mission for their fellow classmates and the University.
In order to foster stronger ties between the alumni-to-be and their alma mater, AAO launched the Class Representatives Scheme in 2012. Over the years, around 900 outstanding undergraduate students were nominated as Class Representatives, who all pledged to help maintain close contact between the graduate cohorts and the University. |
