The Seventh Distinguished Alumni Award (DAA) Presentation Ceremony was held at the University’s 65th Anniversary Founders’ Day Reception on 20 April to recognise four eminent alumni for their outstanding business, professional or scholastic achievements and their remarkable contributions to the University and the community at large. The four distinguished alumni are Mr. Albert Au (Communication), Dr. Cathy Lui (Applied Biology), Mr. Louis Yan (Marketing) and Mr. William Yeung (History).
In his welcome remarks, Chairman of the Council and the Court cum Chairman of the DAA Selection Committee Dr. Clement Chen said that the four recipients were the pride of HKBU and they are wonderful role models who exemplify the qualities the University has always tried to impart to our students over the years.
In his vote of thanks at the Reception, President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alexander Wai also sent his hearty congratulations to the four recipients. He also expressed his gratitude for the support of the nominators, supporters as well as the University community to make the Award a great success.
Video clips highlighting the achievements of the Award recipients were presented at the Ceremony. After receiving the trophy from Chairman Chen and President Wai, each of the Awardees shared on stage with the audience their feelings on receiving the Award and their gratitude towards their alma mater.
The DAA is a signature event of HKBU which the University community all look forward to it every year. The University would wish to hereby record its sincere thanks to the Selection Committee members for their invaluable advice and guidance throughout the selection process.
