Alumna Lo Koon-lan Shines in Movie and Drama Awards

Although movie “Million Loves in Me” is yet to be released in Hong Kong, alumna Lo Koon-lan (History) has been awarded with the following:

Depth of Field International Film Festival Competition 2017 - Award of Outstanding Excellence: Lead Actress
    Hollywood International Moving Picture Film Festival - Best Actress
    IndieFEST Film Awards 2017 held in San Diego - Award of Excellence: Leading Actress
    Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards - Best Actress

Other than movie awards, alumna Lo also gained high recognition with her outstanding performance in “Wit” produced by We Drama Group. She was awarded “Performer of the Year” at the IATA (HK) Critics Award 2016 organised by the International Association of Theatre Critics (Hong Kong), and the best actress (tragedy/drama) at the 26th Hong Kong Drama Awards by the Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies.

Alumnus William Leung Wing-cheung (Honorary University Fellow; English Language & Literature)

Alumnus Leung was re-appointed as Chairman of Employees Training Board of HKSAR for a term of two years with effect from 1 April 2017.

Alumnus Chan Ka-ho Braves the Snow for North Pole Marathon

On 9 April, alumnus Chan Ka-ho (Physical Education) challenged himself to compete in the North Pole Marathon. In this world’s coolest marathon, participants had to overcome the extreme sub-zero temperatures to complete 12 laps on frozen ice.

Congratulations to alumnus Chan who achieved the 4th place in the Men’s Marathon with a time at 4 hours 57 minutes 47 seconds!
Alumna Chan Ka-ho successfully braved the harsh conditions to complete the 42.192km run.

Birthday Party in Dim Sum Cafeteria

On 29 March, alumni Yee Lam (Communication), Monald Lee (Communication) and other HKBU alumni in Shanghai gathered in a Cantonese Dim Sum cafeteria and held a special birthday party for alumnus Gilman Too (Communication) and alumna Christina Lin (Communication) who were born in March.

The party was filled with laughter and warm greetings, uniting the alumni from Hong Kong and Shanghai together.
