Alumna Delia Chan Wai-sheung Becomes Patron of HKBU Century Club

Alumna Delia Chan Wai-sheung (Chinese Medicine) has made a generous donation to Hong Kong Baptist University Century Club recently to support HKBU’s development and become the eighth Patron of the Club. Being a successful entrepreneur, Delia is committed to supporting the development of her alma mater amidst her busy work schedule. Over the years, she has made significant donations to support HKBU in different areas including research projects, scholarships and campus development campaigns.In recognition of Delia’s valuable contributions to society and unfailing support to the University, an Honorary University Fellow was conferred on her by HKBU in 2012. Being highly respectful to President Emeritus Dr. Daniel Tse’s vision on the development of Chinese Medicine education, Delia has recently donated a total of HK$1 million to support “Daniel and Kitty Tse Visiting Professorship Scheme”. Apart from making donation, Delia is involved in University’s committee works. Currently, she is the member of Alumni Committee of HKBU Foundation.

 

 

 

 

HKBU China Studies Alumni Association - Guangxi Volunteer Teaching

Led by the focus group of China Studies School of Hope, HKBU China Studies Alumni Association, a group of alumni and student visited Rongxian, Guangxi, for volunteer teaching and inspection on collapsing schools from 29 March to 1 April 2013 with the aim of understanding the education situations at the rural provinces of China. During the visit, the participants had a chance to get involved in voluntary teaching programme and the study of Chinese calligraphy. They also had the opportunity to experience the seeding in rice fields. In addition, a monument was set up and a "Tree of Friendship" was planted at the Opening Ceremony to symbolise the friendship between HKBU and Rongxian students.

 

 

 

The Alumni Association of Physical Education Department, Post-Graduate Studies, HKBU Holds Annual Dinner 2012-2013

The Alumni Association of Physical Education Department Post-Graduate Studies (AAPEG), Hong Kong Baptist University held its Annual Dinner on 12 April 2013. Around 30 alumni, University Management and academic staff including Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu, Head of Department of Physical Education Prof. Chung Pak-kwong, Associate Head of Department of Physical Education Prof. Patrick Lau, Prof. Cheung Siu-yin and Prof. Leung Mee-lee joined the Dinner. The participants were overwhelmed by the joy of the reunion.

 

 

 

The Postgraduate Association of History - A Visit to Hong Kong Museum of History

The Postgraduate Association of History visited the Hong Kong Museum of History for "The Wonders of Ancient Mesopotamia" on 13 April 2013. Over 30 alumni and their families joined the visit.
