HKBU Alumni Association Successfully Organises Gala Dinner at The Hong Kong Country Club to Celebrate its 50th Birthday
To celebrate the 50th birthday of HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA), a gala dinner was organised on 20 April 2013 at The Hong Kong Country Club which was attended by 300 alumni and guests.
The Dinner themed “Reunion at the Golden Jubilee” was filled with lots of golden elements: alumni from different generations dressed up in gold to match with the theme. The event was graced with the presence of the University’s senior management including Deputy Chairman of the University’s Council and Court Mrs. Pamela Chan Wong-shui, President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S.C. Chan, President of Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College Prof. Ng Ching-fai,
Vice-President (Research and Development) of HKBU Prof. Rick Wong and Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu who officiated at the cake-cutting ceremony. With fine food and wonderful performances, participants enjoyed themselves to the fullest extent. They also showed great support to the alma mater by making donation on the spot.

HKBU Alumni Association Mentoring Programme – "Consumer Finance and Marketing" Seminar
HKBU Alumni Association held a mentoring seminar on “Consumer Finance and Marketing” on 27 April 2013. Alumnus Anthony Hong, Director of Hitachi Capital (HK) Limited, and alumna Ada Lee, Lecturer of VTC SHAPE, were invited to share their insights on Hong Kong’s consumer finance industry and changes and challenges in marketing respectively.
The seminar was well-received by more than 40 alumni, students and friends. During the seminar, alumnus Anthony Hong explained the business and operations of various organisations in Hong Kong’s banking and financial system. He also introduced some regulatory bodies in the system, as well as the characteristics of various consumer finance and schemes in Hong Kong. On the other hand, alumna Ada Lee shared with participants the latest trends of marketing in Hong Kong such as the extensive use of online search engines and social media. She also discussed with participants the opportunities and challenges of marketing practitioners nowadays.
