Alumni Prof. James Tsien and Angel Hon Meet with Dean of Arts Prof. Mette Hjort

Through the arrangement of Alumni Affairs Office, members of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation alumni Prof. James Tsien (Business Management) and Angel Hon (History) met with Dean of Arts Prof. Mette Hjort on 25 February and 3 March respectively. During the meeting, the two alumni shared with Prof. Hjort their global network and valuable experience in overseas partnerships, hoping that such an encounter would help enhance the internationalisation efforts of the Faculty of Arts. Prof. Hjort also shared with them the latest developments of, and various distinctive projects undertaken by the Faculty.

Director of Alumni Affairs Meets with Alumnus Eric Hong

In an effort to strengthen our ties with young alumni, Director of Alumni Affairs met with alumnus Eric Hong Ying Ngai (Business Administration), a practising solicitor in Hong Kong, at a lunch meeting on 2 March. They had a wonderful time at the gathering, during which alumnus Hong was informed of the latest development of HKBU.

Alumnus Harry Ng Provides Internship Opportunities for HKBU Students

Alumnus Harry Ng (Business Administration), HKBU MBA Alumni Association Chairman and Director of Infocan Training Limited, through participation in the STEM Internship Scheme launched by the Innovation and Technology Fund of the HKSAR Government, offered internship places at Infocan to three HKBU students. They are Amy Yip (Mathematics and Statistics), Peter Yip (Green Energy Science) and Sandy Lau (Analytical and Testing Sciences). During the internship period, students were not only provided with on-the-job training in relation to innovation and technology but were also arranged to work at office of Infocan’s clients to broaden their horizons. Harry shared that his clients were satisfied with the performance of the three graduating students. They have also indicated that they will be pleased to invite the students to join their companies after the internship.

Alumnus Philip Kan Appointed Member of Board of Directors of iClick Interactive Asia Group Limited and Re-appointed Member of Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Alumnus Philip Kan (Business Management) was appointed member of the Board of Directors of iClick Interactive Asia Group Limited, an independent online marketing and enterprise data solutions provider in China, effective 1 January 2021. In addition, alumnus Kan was re-appointed by the HKSAR Government as Member of Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The appointment is for a term of one year with effect from 1 February 2021. Congratulations to alumnus Kan!
