Career Sharing Seminar
On 18 February, HKBU Alumni Association and Office of Student Affairs co-organised a career sharing seminar for the Master students from mainland China, particularly for those who were interested in Communication or Finance industry. Alumni Daniel Wu (Business Administration), Betty Zhang (Communication), Edwin Tam (Business Management) and Charlotte Luo (Communication) were invited as guest speakers. The seminar started with a sharing session, in which they shared their experience on how to develop their careers, then followed by a Q&A session. More than 60 students attended the seminar which they found it very insightful for their career planning. |

Monthly Happy Hour
On 20 February, HKBU Alumni Association joined hands with School of Business Alumni Association to organise a Happy Hour event themed Finance Salon – 2017 Equity & FX Market Outlook which was held at the Law Society of Hong Kong in Central. Two distinguished young alumni from School of Business shared their views on equity and foreign exchange market respectively with more than 20 participants.
Alumnus Ben Bei (Business Administration), Director of Equity Research at CIMB, shared his view on the outlook of Hong Kong and China equity market in 2017 based on his comprehensive analysis for key drivers of the Hong Kong equity market trend. While Alumnus Stephen Yung (Business Administration), Treasury Specialist – FX at Citibank, talked about the outlook of different currencies, including USD, GBP, EUR and RMB, on which he had conducted in-depth analysis from technical, government policy, political sentiment and macro-economics perspectives.

Celebration Dinner for HKBU Wine Team
On behalf of HKBU Alumni Association (HKBUAA), alumnus Tyrone Siu Tai-lun (History), President of HKBUAA, and alumnus Alex Leung Kwai-wah (Business Management), Vice-president of the Association, joined a dinner with HKBU Wine Team at Grand Hyatt Hotel Hong Kong on 25 February, in celebration for the team’s second runner-up in the Hong Kong preliminary round in the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup 2017. Tyrone and Alex congratulated the team for their outstanding performance and were committed to render their continued support for the team next year. |

Golf Practice for BU Golf Novices
HKBU Alumni Association organised a golf practice session for its members in Tai Po on 26 February, which was followed by a dim sum lunch at Renfrew Restaurant at HKBU campus. After lunch, participants joined a two-hour sharing session in golf practices conducted by alumnus Anson Cheung (Economics), who was a qualified coach of the Professional Golfers Association. Members cherished the opportunity to learn more about golf practice and exchange ideas with HKBU buddies. |

HKBU Postgraduate Association High Table Dinner
Alumnus Tyrone Siu Tai-lun, President of HKBU Alumni Association, and members of the Association’s Executive Committee attended the 2017 HKBU Postgraduate Association High Table Dinner at Regal Hongkong Hotel on 24 February, of which Prof. Roland Chin, President of HKBU, was the officiating guest. They cherished the delightful moment of the dinner. |
