Alumna Belinda Kwan En-Yiing Publishes New Book

In Memory of Alumnus Prof. Samuel Hui Yuk-to

HKBU Social Work Alumni Association extended deepest condolences to the family of alumnus Prof. Samuel Hui Yuk-to (Sociology 1969) who passed away on 16 October 2013. Prof. Hui is remembered for his great contributions in the social work education sector over the years, and his pioneering work in the development and professionalisation of social work in Macau and Mainland. May Prof. Hui rest in peace.

The Joint University Alumni Associations Wine Club Seminar cum Dinner

The Joint University Alumni Associations Wine Club (JUAA Wine Club), founded by Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association (HKBUAA), Hong Kong Polytechnic Alumni Association, and Lingnan University (Hong Kong) Alumni Association, organised a wine seminar cum wine dinner at Lippo Chiuchow Restaurant in Admiralty on 7 March 2014. The wine seminar themed “Understanding Popular Grape Varieties of Wine"was conducted by Mr. Louis Lee, a renowned wine educator,who introduced the wines served at the dinner. The post-seminar dinner was attended by 64 alumni from various alumni associations.

Alumnus Stephen Tang, Founding President of the JUAA Wine Club in his welcome remarks announced the formation of the Club. The guest of honour Mr. Nicholas Yang, Executive Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, also delivered a speech and shared his views on tasting fine wines and living a quality life.

Yang Hall Alumni Association Fun-filled Spring Dinner Get-together

The Yang Hall Alumni Association organised its Spring Dinner on 8 February 2014 which was concluded with great success. Former Resident Master of Yang Hall Rev. Dr. Ip King-tak and current Resident Master Dr. Kevin Yue Kin-man were invited to attend this meaningful event. The get-together attracted over 50 participants including alumni from various years. The two Resident Masters were invited to write Chinese calligraphy as souvenirs to alumni, while the committee also presented to Dr. Ip and Dr. Yue the motto of Yang Hall “Hall with a Heart” written in Chinese calligraphy as a token of appreciation for their support throughout the years. All participants enjoyed the night and they look forward to participating in future activities of the Association.

Physics Alumni Association of HKBU Organises Talk on Creativity

The Physics Alumni Association of HKBU invited alumnus Raymond Chow Hing-yip, the former Chief Mainland Liaison Officer of ICAC, to deliver a talk on “Creativity” on 22 January 2014 at HKBU campus.
