Recent Activities of Century Club

Supporters and Directors of HKBU Century Club Attend HKBU Alumni Tree Naming Ceremony In response to the “HKBU Alumni Tree Naming Campaign”, HKBU Century Club ardently motivated members to support the First-Generation University Student Fund. The Club eventually named two alumni trees which are located on Baptist University Road Campus and Ho Sin Hang Campus respectively. On 18 May, donor members, directors and friends of the Club returned to their alma mater to attend the “HKBU Alumni Tree Naming Ceremony”. They also joined the guided tour and spent a joyful afternoon together. Some of the members of HKBU Century Club attend the Naming Ceremony.     Directors and friends of the Club take photo in front of the named alumni tree.     A group of alumni supporters sponsor the Club to name a tree near the Academic and Administration Building on Baptist University Road Campus.     Another group of alumni supporters sponsor the Club to name a tree near the Academic Community Hall on Ho Sin Hang Campus.

HKBU Century Club Presents “The Chinese Materia Medica for Us All” HKBU Century Club presents a TV programme “The Chinese Materia Medica for Us All” to promote the culture of Chinese medicine to the public. The 120-episode TV series is jointly produced by the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU and the Art Concept Culture Institute. The programme, with each episode in 2 minutes, has been broadcast on TVB J5 channel every weekday at 8:30 pm starting from 29 May. The Club, together with Art Concept Culture Institute, held a premiere event on HKBU campus on 8 May. The event was officiated by Under Secretary for Home Affairs Ms. Florence Hui; President of HKBU and Honorary President of Century Club Prof. Roland Chin; Emeritus President of HKBU and Honorary President of Century Club alumnus Dr. Daniel Tse (Doctor of Humanities, honoris causa; Sociology); Dean of the School of Chinese Medicine of HKBU Prof. Lyu Aiping; Associate Dean of the School Prof. Zhao Zhongzhen; Member of Century Club and Honorary President of the Art Concept Culture Institute alumna Katie Chan (Communication); President of Century Club alumnus Kent Tsui (Communication); Director of the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology of HKBU Prof. Chen Zhi; Chairman of Pecan Foundation Limited alumnus Dr. Justin Chiu (Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa; Sociology); and Patron and Past President/Ex-officio Director of Century Club alumna Marianna Tsang (Secretarial Management).    (From left) Alumna Marianna Tsang, alumnus Dr. Justin Chiu, Prof. Zhao Zhongzhen, alumna Katie Chan, alumnus Dr. Daniel Tse, Ms. Florence Hui, Prof. Roland Chin, alumnus Kent Tsui, Prof. Lyu Aiping and Prof. Chen Zhi     The premiere event was attended by over 100 guests.
