The University launched Project M.A.I.L. with an aim to allow students and the HKBU community to serve the community in mainland China on a sustainable basis. On 28 May, alumni Wong Nga-chung (Honorary University Fellow; Business Management), Tyrone Siu (History) and Agnes Wong (Business Management) set off to Da Yu in Jiangxi Province to join the HKBU team comprising staff, as well as HKBU international, local and mainland students to provide community services there.
During the five-day trip, the alumni paid visits to elderly homes and visited some left-behind children. The trip ended with visits to two primary schools and the HKBU group organised activities to engage with the students there.
