Alumnus Professor Sunny Wong Shares His Insights and Experience in Leadership and Management at a Training Session in China

The HKBU Foundation Alumni Committee Chairman and HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient alumnus Professor Sunny Wong (Business Management) was invited by Ningbo China Institute for Supply Chain Innovation as a guest speaker to share his insights and experience in leadership and management at a training session on 25 June, in Ningbo, China. During the sharing session entitled “Servant Leadership”, Prof. Wong shared with the audience his insights into “Servant Leadership”, and related his experience in successfully putting the above concept into practice. All participants of the training session found Prof. Wong’s sharing informative and inspiring.

Alumnus Professor Justin Chiu’s Sharing with Students from Faculty of Social Sciences

Alumnus Professor Justin Chiu (Sociology), Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Honorary Advisor of Faculty of Social Sciences Student Development Endowment Fund, has always been keen on sharing his wisdom and experience with the younger generation. On 8 June, Prof. Chiu had a meeting with students Shirley Hui (Government and International Studies, Year 3) and Yuen Ka-mei (Social Work, Year 4), and shared with them his insights into student development. Associate Dean (Development) of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Chung Pak-kwong and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee also attended the meeting. Shirley and Ka-mei were both inspired by Prof. Chiu’s insightful sharing.

Alumnus Dr. Vincent Ho Conducts an Interview with Alumna Ho Yuen-kei during a Radio Programme He Hosted

Alumnus Dr. Vincent Ho (Communication), Founding President of HKBU Alumni Association of the Greater Bay Area, is the host of a programme at Metro Radio. During a programme episode on 26 May, Dr. Ho conducted a telephone interview with alumna Ho Yuen-kei (China Studies), one of Hong Kong’s best female boccia players and a Gold Medalist of the 2018 Asian Para Games. Being one of the athletes to compete in the BC3 game of Boccia for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, alumna Ho shared with the radio audience how she prepared for and overcame various challenges of the Paralympic Games. She also introduced “Hopeball”, an innovative sports game, during the programme.

Alumna Dr. Marianna Tsang Participates in Hong Kong Productivity Council SEED Programme

Alumna Dr. Marianna Tsang (Secretarial Management), HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and Managing Director of TWC Management Limited, was presented a Certificate of Appreciation at the Closing Ceremony of the fourth SEED Programme by the Hong Kong Productivity Council on 29 April, in appreciation of her sponsorship for, and mentorship to a social enterprise which promotes LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) and advocates a low carbon living style.

In addition, alumna Dr. Tsang recently sponsored a drama production organised by Caritas Creative ART Centre. She also gave a sharing during the drama performance, showing her support for elderly services.

The University is deeply saddened by the passing away of alumnus Mr. Kam Sze-leung (Music) on 8 July 2021, and would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to his family.
