Telecommunications Veteran and Asian Games Gold Medalists to Share Success Stories at HKBU SEED Talks
 
Two online “SEED Talks” presented by Hong Kong Baptist University will be conducted in late July, to feature alumnus William Yeung (History), a telecommunications veteran; and Mr. Wong Kam-po and alumnus Chan King-yin (Physical Education & Recreation Management), both Asian Games gold medalists. The speakers will share their success stories and words of wisdom with graduates and young alumni on career and personal development.

The two talks will be held online at 4 pm on 24 July and 31 July respectively, and are now open for online registration.
 
24 July (Friday)

Topic:
5Ps - Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance

Introduction:
With the belief that chance favours a prepared mind, telecommunications veteran alumnus William Yeung always stays agile and would grasp every opportunity that comes his way. His uncompromising attitude and preparedness for opportunities have turned him, a history graduate, into a leader in the telecommunications industry. In the upcoming talk, he will share with the audience his formula for success, which is to get prepared for the fast-changing telecommunication industry and to unceasingly improve key skills and nurture the right mindsets during his career life, which are vital to one’s personal growth.

The Joy of Effort

Introduction:
Mr. Wong Kam-po and alumnus Chan King-yin, both Asian Games gold medalists, will share with the audience about how they pedalled their ways to success and braved the rough seas with relentless perseverance and hard work, and finally revelled in the joys of triumph. Known as the pride of Hong Kong, the two retired athletes will also talk about their continuous efforts in seeking new directions, with the aim of contributing to the sports sector in a different role.

The SEED Talk is one of the Project SEED initiatives. It aims to nurture Students through Engagement, Enhancement and Development, and help the graduating cohort overcome the challenges arising from the economic downturn, get themselves better prepared for employment and assist them to unleash their potential. By engaging community leaders and inspirational professionals with profound knowledge and from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, the Talk series aim to instill in both HKBU students and young alumni a positive attitude towards life, improve their competency in job-hunting, and provide them with a broad scope of outlook as they chart their path for a fulfilling and rewarding life.
