Alumna Nancy Liao and Her Husband Donate to Establish an Endowment Scholarship for Needy Students

Alumna Nancy Liao (Music) and her husband Mr. John Tang recently made a donation of HK$1 million for establishing an endowment scholarship in honour of Mr. Tang’s parents.

Echoing with the University’s efforts in promoting equal learning opportunities, Nancy and John take this scholarship to reward outstanding students who are first-generation university students, with Special Education Needs, or South and South East Asian ethnic minority.

Alumnus Prof. Jacky So Donates to Establish Bursary for Needy Students

Alumnus Prof. Jacky So (Business Management) recently donated HK$30,000 for establishing a bursary in honour of his wife alumna Gloria So (Geography). The bursary is set up to support needy students from the Department of History and the Department of Geography. The donation was facilitated by the President of HKBU Alumni Association alumnus Alex Leung (Business Administration).

Alumnus Tyrone Siu Meets With Overseas Alumni

On behalf of the Alumni Committee of HKBU Foundation, alumnus Tyrone Siu (History) and his spouse visited young alumni Moss Zhao (Computing Studies) and Blair Au Yeung (Business Administration), who are staying and working in the United Kingdom, during their recent trip. On 27 May, they had a joyful lunch in which they enjoyed updating each other on the recent happenings of the alumni in their living regions.

Tyrone also met with Rev. Terence Chan, Former Minister-in-charge of Baptist University Church, on 12 May and exchanged views in uniting the alumni residing in Alberta, Canada.

Alumnus Ng Yui-chung from New York Visits HKBU

Alumnus Ng Yui-chung (Civil Engineering) who is now residing in New York, USA returned to the alma mater on 18 June 2019 to meet with Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee. Alumnus Ng was warmly welcomed by Dr. Lee and expressed his wish of visiting the University again very soon.
