Students Meet Alumni at The Sixth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award High Table Dinner

On 18 June, the Sixth HKBU Distinguished Alumni Award (DAA) High Table Dinner was held by Alumni Affairs Office on HKBU Campus which was well-attended by around 150 students, alumni and guests. Graced by the presence of Chairman of the Council and the Court Dr. Clement Chen, Deputy Chairman Mr. Andrew Yao, Treasurer Ms. Rosanna Choi, President Prof. Roland Chin, Selection Committee member of DAA, Ms. Viola Man and other senior management of the University, this 3-hour event was a great success providing opportunity for students and young alumni to fully interact with DAA recipients and be inspired by their insights and advice.

In his welcoming remarks, Chairman Chen expressed his appreciation to the Award recipients for their unfailing support to the University and significant contribution to the society. He encouraged students and young alumni to learn from success and failures of the Award recipients in pursuit of their goals. President Prof. Roland Chin also shared that the alumni can serve as role models for students to follow in their footsteps to contribute to society.

The participants had a dialogue with the Award recipients this year. They are alumni Ms. Amy Cheung (Communication), Mr. Felix Chong (Communication – Film/Video), Prof. Iu Vai-pan (Civil Engineering) and Dr. Cartier Lam (Geography). Though Dr. Cartier Lam was not able to attend the dinner, he shared his insight through a written reply. Moderated by Ms. Bonnie Chiu, Associate Head of Department of Journalism, the sharing session fully engaged all guests.
