Alumnus Dr. Jacinto Tong and His Family Make a Donation to Support Higher Education in Hong Kong

To foster the development of higher education in Hong Kong, alumnus Dr. Jacinto Tong and his family members made a donation with the aim of nurturing future talents through the provision of better education and career training to the young generation.

Alumnus Dr. Jacinto Tong is a staunch supporter of HKBU. He is an Honorary University Fellow, an Honorary Member of the Court of HKBU, the Honorary President of HKBU Foundation as well as a committee member of the Entrepreneur Committee of HKBU Foundation.

He devotes much effort to supporting the development of HKBU through making generous donation to the University over the years, including Dr. Mok Man Hung Endowed Chair of Chemistry and other initiatives of the University. Ms. Jacqueline Tong, daughter of Dr. Jacinto Tong, is also a committee member of the Young Entrepreneur Committee of HKBU Foundation, devoting great efforts to advancing the University with her domain expertise.

Alumnus Sunny Wong Shares View on Brand Management under The New Models of Consumer and Retail Industry

Invited by China Business Journal, alumnus Sunny Wong (Business Management) shared his view on brand management under the new models of consumer and retail at the China Enterprise Annual Meeting On Enterprise Competitiveness 2018 Summer Summit on 12 June in Beijing.

Alumnus Leslie Choy Chi-fai Releases New Book “The Path to AUSpreme”

Alumnus Leslie Choy Chi-fai (Chinese Language and Literature) will launch his new book entitled “The Path to AUSupreme” on July 18 at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2018. His book is about how he started his nutritional supplements business with initial capital of around twenty thousand dollars and made it to be listed on Hong Kong Exchange Main Board in 2016.

Alumnus Yee Lam visits HKBU

On 27 June, alumnus Yee Lam (Communication), Founding President of HKBU Alumni Association of Shanghai (HKBUSHAA) paid a visit to the School of Business and met with the Director of the Alumni Affairs Office Dr. Melanie Lee. He shared the exciting happenings of alumni and recent activities of students undergoing exchange in Shanghai.

Computer Science Alumni Connect with Undergraduate Students

On 28 May, the Department of Computer Science held the Undergraduate Fresh Graduate Party and Alumni Career Sharing which was well attended by more than 20 computer science fresh graduates and alumni.

Attending alumni shared valuable career experience with their junior fellows. Through discussions with alumni, fresh graduates also had a deeper understanding of the market.
Fresh graduates of Computer Science connect with their seniors and gain valuable career advice.
 
 
In Memory of Dr Tin Ka-ping

The University is deeply saddened by the passing away of Dr Tin Ka-ping, Doctor of Social Sciences, honoris causa, of HKBU, on 10 July 2018. He was 99 years old.

Dr Tin was highly respected for his long-standing and remarkable contributions to the overall development of HKBU through Tin Ka Ping Foundation, an Honorary Trustee of the Hong Kong Baptist University Foundation. A staunch supporter of HKBU, Dr Tin made generous donations in support of a variety of endeavours of the University, as well as various conference series and our institutional advancement at large.

The University community would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to Dr Tin’s family. Dr Tin made many lasting contributions to the University and Hong Kong’s education sector and he will be deeply missed.

The University is deeply saddened by the passing away of alumnus Andy Yau Chi-man (Finance) on 18 June 2018, and conveys our heartfelt condolences to his family.
