Science Buddies Reunited in Annual Sports Day

On 29 April, the annual Science Sports Day was successfully held on HKBU campus. This year, the sports event attracted 22 teams comprising 150 alumni, students and faculty members from five departments of Faculty of Science, a record-breaking participation over the past 11 years.

After rounds of keen competitions, Department of Biology and Department of Mathematics jointly won the Dean’s Cup with the same overall highest score. It is the first time that Department of Biology won the prize while Department of Mathematics has scooped the Cup for nine years. The winning teams were extremely excited when they were presented the trophy.

The day concluded with a lunch gathering in which Acting Dean of Science, Prof. Chris Wong, gave his speech and recognised the sportsmanship of the athletes. He hoped this annual event could help strengthen the bonding among all alumni, students and staff of the Science family.

Since 2007, Science Sports Day has been held in April every year involving 4 sports contests, namely 5-a-side football, 5-on-5 basketball, badminton and table-tennis. All alumni, students and staff members from Science Faculty are welcome to join.
The Science Sports Day marks a record-breaking entry this year.
