Alumni Achievement
HKBU Alumni Honoured for Distinguished Contributions to Society

Congratulations to the following alumni who were honoured by the HKSAR Government on 30 June for their outstanding service/contributions to the community:

    Alumnus Philip Tsai, JP (Accounting) is awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star;
    Alumnus Benjamin Chan (Social Work) is awarded Medal of Honour;
    Alumnus Frederick Lynn (Business Management) is awarded Medal of Honour;
    Alumna Dr. Choi Yuk-lin (Chinese Language & Literature) is appointed as Justice of the Peace;
    Alumnus Chris Ip (European Studies) is appointed as Justice of the Peace;
    Alumnus Yuen Chi-wai (Communication) is appointed as Justice of the Peace;
Alumnus Yang Joe-tsi (Communication) is awarded the Hong Kong Police Medal for Distinguished Service; and
    Alumnus Lo King-wing (Sociology) is awarded the Hong Kong ICAC Medal for Meritorious Service.
Alumni May Chan (Honorary University Fellow; Communication) and Wong Wing-hang (Communication)

After working for the Commercial Radio Hong Kong for 40 years, alumna May Chan retired from the position of Director of News and Public Affairs with effect from 1 July. She has taken up a role as special advisor and would continue hosting her own radio programme. Alumnus Wong Wing-hang, the current Deputy Director of News and Public Affairs, has succeeded her post as Director. Congratulations to alumnus Wong!

Alumnus Dr. Cartier Lam (Geography)

With his profound knowledge and banking experience in Mainland China, alumnus Dr. Cartier Lam was appointed as Executive Director and Chief Executive of The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited in November 2016. Congratulations to Dr. Lam!
Alumnus Dickie Lau Receives Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Award

Relieve the Pain & Discover the Joy in Market Place, the sixth book of alumnus Dickie Lau (Communication) was awarded the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards (Business Management Category), and will be displayed at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2017. Congratulations to alumnus Lau!
