Career Seminar on “Develop Good Etiquette & Create a Professional Image”

HKBUAA held the first Career Development Seminar titled “Develop Good Etiquette & Create a Professional Image” for Mentoring Programme 2016-17 at Lam Woo International Conference Centre on 25 June. The seminar was co-organised with the School of Business and was well attended by over 100 alumni and students.

Founder of Spark Image Consultancy, Alumna May Chan (Management), shared with the participants her tips for building a professional image and making oneself confident. She demonstrated various ways of mixing and matching outfit with different color schemes and how little details, such as a nice pocket square or a necklace, could improve one’s professional image. She suggested participants not to choose clothings that are deemed fashionable but to choose the ones that suit their professional image.

May also illustrated how proper etiquette could help foster business relationships with others and laid emphasis on the soul of etiquette - be respectful, be considerate, be comfortable and be appreciative.

The seminar was followed by a mentoring skills refresher session presented by Vice President of HKBUAA Dr. Arnold Chan and an introductory session of the HKBUAA Mentoring Program by Alumna Rose Wai (Secretarial Management).
The seminar attracts over 100 participants.
