Science Alumni Shares Teaching Experiences and Insights

Collaborating with Baptist Chemists and the Physics Alumni Association of Hong Kong Baptist University, Faculty of Science organised the second Alumni Sharing Series themed “Teaching Fantasia” on 18 April 2015. The sharing was well-attended by around 60 students, alumni and staff.

Alumna Dr. Chan Lai-kwan, Programme Director of Programme for the Gifted and Talented of The Chinese University of Hong Kong shared that matching the needs of gifted and talented students according to their aptitude is crucial in gifted education, while alumnus Yip Chung-sing, Founder and former Principal of RTC Gaia School (Hong Kong) shared his teaching tips on “Nature is the Best Teacher for Kids”. At the panel discussion chaired by Prof. Chan Wing-hong of Department of Chemistry, it was concluded that teachers should use a creative and flexible approach to motivate children to learn.

The 2014-15 Annual Dinner of the Alumni Association of Physical Education Department Post-Graduate Studies, HKBU

The 2014-15 Annual Dinner of the Alumni Association of Physical Education Department Post-Graduate Studies (AAPEG) was concluded on 13 April 2015 with the participation of 25 Physical Education alumni.

Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu, Head of Department of Physical Education Prof. Cheung Siu-yin, Dr. Kim Seungmo, former AAPEG Presidents Miss Florence Tsui and Mrs. Yolanda Tong, current AAPEG President Ms. June Lo and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee were invited to join the dinner. It was a wonderful night and everyone was overwhelmed with the joy of reunion.

HKBU Alumni Association of Department of Mathematics Annual General Meeting 2015

HKBU Alumni Association of Department of Mathematics held its Annual General Meeting on 12 April 2015 which was attended by over 30 Mathematics alumni.

The new Executive Committee was elected as listed below:

To celebrate the 45th anniversary of Department of Mathematics this year, the Association will collaborate with the Department to organise various celebratory activities.
