Updates on Alumni
 
Congratulations to the following alumni awardees of the HKSAR 2014 Honours List:
     
Alumnus Francis Chau Yin-ming, MH (Social Work)

Alumnus Chau is awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star for his long and distinguished public and community service, particularly in Sai Kung District.
 
     
Alumnus Joe Lai Wing-ho (Applied Physics)

Alumnus Lai is awarded the Medal of Honour for his outstanding and dedicated community service in Wong Tai Sin District.
 
     
Alumnus Lam Kwok-leung (Mathematics)

Alumnus Lam is awarded the Hong Kong Correctional Services Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedicated service in the Correctional Services Department for over 30 years.
 
     
Alumnus Leung Shu-ming (Social Work)

Alumnus Leung is awarded Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service.
 
     
The Honourable Cyd Ho Sau-lan (English Language and Literature)

Alumna Ho is appointed Justice of the Peace.
 
     
Alumnus Kingsley Wong Kwok (China Studies)

Alumnus Wong is appointed Justice of the Peace.
 
 
Congratulations to the following alumni who have attained outstanding achievements:
     
Honorary University Fellow Alumnus Fredric Mao Chun-fai, BBS (English Language and Literature)

Honorary University Fellow alumnus Mao was conferred as the Doctorate of the Academy honoris causa by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on 26 June 2014 in recognition of his remarkable achievements in performing arts.
 
     
Honorary University Fellow Dr. Ronald Lu

Led by Honorary University Fellow, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors of the HKBU Foundation Dr. Ronald Lu, Ronald Lu & Partners won the HKIA Merit Award of Hong Kong (Commercial Building) for the renovation of China Resources Building and HKIA Merit Award of Hong Kong (Community Building) for the revitalisation of Pak Tze Lane Park in the HKIA Annual Awards 2013.

Dr. Lu’s company also has received the BCI Asia Top 10 Architects Award for ten consecutive years. It is the only local architectural firm winning the prestigious title every year. In addition, its Zero Carbon Building Project and the China Resources Building also won the "Grand Award - Hong Kong Non-Residential (New Building) Category" and the "Grand Award - Hong Kong Building (Renovation/Revitalisation) Category" respectively in the Quality Building Award 2014.
