Alumnus Dr. Jonathan Choi Kwok-chan Donates HK$300,000 and Becomes Patron of HKBU Century Club

HKBU Century Club is pleased to have recently received a generous donation of HK$300,000 from alumnus Dr. Jonathan Choi Kwok-chan (History) for supporting the alma mater and being the Club’s ninth Patron. He designated HK$250,000 out of his donation to support the “Hostel Donation Naming Campaign” initiated by the Alumni Affairs Office. During the Club’s appreciation dinner held on 21 May 2013, President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S.C. Chan, Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu and the Club’s President Ms. Marianna Tsang Wai-chun jointly presented an appreciation plaque to Dr. Choi to show special thanks for his selfless contribution.

Dr. Choi is a successful entrepreneur and an educator who is devoted to nurturing new generations. He was once a teacher, a headmaster as well as the founder of China-Hong Kong English School in the Mainland China in the early 90’s and he has been the Chairman of the School since then. Filled with great enthusiasm in education, Dr. Choi ’s guiding principles and unfailing efforts in education have been much recognised by the Government and parents of the Mainland. Throughout the years, Dr. Choi has shown his great care to HKBU as he has avidly made significant donations in support of the University’s development. Currently, he is the Member of College of International Education Advisory Committee, HKBU.
