Recent Activities of HKBU Alumni Association of Australia

On 17 December 2018, HKBU Alumni Association of Australia held a Christmas gathering at Zilver Restaurant in Hay Market, Sydney. The gathering was attended by President of the Association alumnus Sidney Cheng, members Augustus Ho and his spouse, Peter Chu, Clara Cheng, Henie Chu, Leung Ting-chun and his spouse Chan Bun-yee, Richard Lam and his spouse Mabel Lam, Allan Chu and Bosco Lau.

The Association also held a gathering on 2 November 2018 at Greenwood Chinese Restaurant in North Sydney, at which alumna Prof. Teresa Tsien, Professor of Practice (Gerontology) of Department of Applied Social Sciences and Professional Consultant of Institute of Active Ageing of PolyU attended as a special guest. President of the Association alumnus Sidney Cheng, Vice-President Lawrence Chan, members Clara Cheng, Henie Chu, Leung Ting-chun and his spouse Chan Bun-yee, Judy Cheung and Bosco Lau also attended the gathering.

The Association’s annual general meeting and dinner gathering was held on 28 September at The Eight in Sydney. At the meeting, the President Report and Financial Report were endorsed by members unanimously.

HKBU Alumni Association of Australia would like to invite alumni, retired and former academic and administrative staff of the University, who are now residing in Australia to join the Association. HKBU Alumni Association of Shanghai Holds First Anniversary Dinner

HKBU Alumni Association of Shanghai (HKBUSHAA) held its First Anniversary Dinner on 8 December 2018. Around 100 alumni as well as Presidents and representatives of various alumni associations attended the Dinner to send their congratulations to the HKBUSHAA. They were all impressed by a surprise congratulatory video from HKBU President Prof. Roland Chin.

HKBU Alumni Association of Shanghai Attends a Forum on Innovation and Technology in Shanghai

On 17 December 2018, President of the Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) Prof. Ng Ching-fai, Deputy Chairman of the Council and the Court of HKBU and Honorary Patron of HKBUSHAA Mr. Andrew Yao, Member of the Council and the Court of HKBU Dr. Terence Chan, Honorary Patron of HKBUSHAA alumnus Dr. Cartier Lam, Founding President alumnus Yee Lam and members of HKBUSHAA attended a Hong Kong-Shanghai Forum on Innovation and Technology organised by HKSAR and Shanghai government in Shanghai. They had a joyful dinner gathering after the Forum and caught up with each other.
