HKBU Century Club Annual General Meeting 2018 cum Dinner Gathering

HKBU Century Club hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2018 followed by a dinner gathering at Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui on 10 December. The dinner was graced by the presence of President cum Honorary President of the Club Prof. Roland Chin, Vice-President (Teaching & Learning) Dr. Albert Chau, Associate Vice-President (Engagement) cum Advisor of the Club Mr. C.K. Yeung and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee.

During the AGM, President of the Club alumnus Kent Tsui Kwok-yue (Communication) presented his President’s Report on the Club’s activities and achievements last year. He also expressed his appreciation to the Board of Directors, Patrons, the Honorary Auditor RSM Hong Kong and the Alumni Affairs Office for their valuable advice and unfailing support to the Club over the years.

After the report from Chairman of Election Committee alumnus Thomas Yiu (Civil Engineering), the new Board of Directors for the term of 2018 to 2020 composed of the following members was unanimously elected.

RSM Hong Kong was reappointed as Honorary Auditor for the year ahead.

Taking this opportunity, President Chin and Kent welcomed two new members, alumni Joseph Chan (Accounting) and Dr. Vincent Ho (Communication) by presenting them the Club’s membership pin, while patrons and judging panel of the HKBU Century Club Sponsorship Scheme 2018 presented the cheque to the representatives of the beneficiary projects. In response to the imminent launch of HKSAR Government’s Eighth Matching Grant Scheme, an auction hosted by Helen Kwok and Jimmy Mak (Communication) was conducted during the dinner to raise funds. The alumni and guests bid ardently. The fund raised by the auction will be donated to the University once the Scheme is launched officially.

HKBU Century Club Sponsors HKBU CIE Global Youth Forum

With the generous sponsorship from HKBU Century Club, the College of International Education organised its first Global Youth Forum on 20 November to bring together around 100 educators and students from across the globe to engage in stimulating discussions with local educators and students on the topic of “Voice of the Future – Gen Z”.

Patron and Vice-President of Century Club alumna Agnes Wong was invited to attend as an officiating guest and was presented with an appreciation gift.
