Dinner Gathering of Communication Buddies

On 22 November, Communication buddies who graduated in 1970s gathered for dinner as alumnus Paul Tsang and his wife alumna Chan Yuen-fun returned to Hong Kong from Vancouver and alumna Ip Siu-ping returned from Toronto. The atmosphere was convivial as members updated one another on their recent developments and shared reminiscences of university life. At the dinner, they also celebrated for the birthday buddies.

Alumni Chan Wing-yip (Music) and Li Ka-wai (Music) Awarded in International Percussion Competition

Congratulations to alumni Chan Wing-yip and Li Ka-wai, who were awarded the second prize in Snare Drum and the first prize in Marimba respectively in the International Hong Kong Percussion Competition in November. The competition is open to all percussionist and chamber musician of all nationalities aged under 35.

In Memory of Ms. Barbara M. Y. Fei
(Honorary University Fellow)


The University is profoundly saddened by the passing of Ms. Barbara M. Y. Fei, Honorary University Fellow, on 3 January. She was 85 years old.

Ms. Fei was a renowned world-class musician who made distinguished contributions to the development of music in Hong Kong and on the Mainland, and also supported music education at HKBU. She served as a Member of the Accreditation Panel for the implementation of the four-year curriculum of HKBU’s Music programme under the new academic structure. The University would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to her family.
 
 
Memorial Service of Dr. Hui Yin-fat

A memorial service of Dr. Hui Yin-fat, Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa, who passed away last month, will be held at 15:00 on 21 January at Carmel Secondary School to commemorate the splendid life of Dr. Hui. You are cordially invited to join the service.
