Updates on HKBU Century Club
 
Annual General Meeting 2014 cum Appreciation Dinner for President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S. C. Chan

Attended by 50 alumni members and guests, HKBU Century Club concluded its Annual General Meeting 2014 on 29 November 2014 at Zhejiang Heen in Wan Chai. The Club was honoured to have the presence of President and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Albert S. C. Chan, Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu and Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee.

During the Annual General Meeting, President and Patron of the Club alumna Marianna Tsang Wai-chun presented her last President’s Report on the Club’s activities and fruitful outcomes in the past year after her 4-year presidency. The new Board of Directors for the term of 2014 to 2016 composed of the following members was also elected.

On behalf of the Club, Marianna expressed the deepest gratitude to the Board of Directors of the previous term, Patrons and the Honorary Auditor RSM Nelson Wheeler for their ardent support to the Club and the alma mater over the years. She also thanked Prof. Frank Fu for rendering advice and Alumni Affairs Office for providing secretarial service to the Club. On the other hand, the newly elected President Kent Tsui Kwok-yue expressed deepest appreciation towards Marianna for her devotion and contributions to Century Club and alma mater throughout the years. In order to acknowledge their support and contribution, the Club invited Prof. Albert S.C. Chan to present Certificates of Appreciation to them.

At the occasion, Prof. Albert S.C. Chan, Prof. Frank Fu and Patrons jointly presented cheques to the representatives of the “HKBU Century Club Sponsorship Scheme 2014” winning projects (Please click here to view the Scheme’s result). Prof. Albert S.C. Chan, together with the new President alumnus Kent Tsui Kwok-yue and Immediate Past President alumna Marianna Tsang Wai-chun, also welcomed the three new members, namely alumna Katie Chan Fook-sang, alumnus Regan Ho Ting-hong and alumnus Gordon Tsui Luen-on, by presenting them the Century Club pins.

The meeting was followed by an appreciation dinner for Prof. Albert S.C. Chan at the same venue. The highlight of the dinner was the presentation of a special gift and a poem (please see below) to Prof. Chan to thank him for his effort and contribution made to the University.

Hosts Appreciation Dinner 2014 for Patrons

With a view to expressing appreciation for Patrons who have donated generously to the University, HKBU Century Club (the Club) organised a dinner at Kiangsu Chekiang and Shanghai Residents (Hong Kong) Association Restaurant on 25 November 2014, which was attended by the Patrons and Directors of the Club and representatives of the University.

Past Vice-President and Patron of the Club alumnus Lau Pak-shing hosted the dinner whereby he expressed deep gratitude to the Patrons for their donation and ardent support and great contribution made towards Century Club and the alma mater over the years. The Club also extended its warmest welcome to alumnus Alfred Tang Kwai-chang who has become Patron recently. Associate Vice-President Prof. Frank Fu and President and Patron alumna Marianna Tsang Wai-chun jointly presented an appreciation plaque to alumnus Tang at the dinner.

The Club also took the opportunity to congratulate Patron alumnus Dickson Shang Tat-yan and Patron alumnus Wong Nga-chung for being conferred the Honorary University Fellowship by the alma mater.
