| The pandemic has caused the cancellation of most of the concert and opera engagements of alumna Anna Vienna Ho (Music). Gratefully, she could still work during this difficult period as a composer and premiered her first opera, Buddha and the Monkey King, as part of the performance in the Tête à Tête Opera Festival, Britain's largest festival of new opera. She was also commissioned by the Birmingham Opera Company to participate in a video production entitled It Gets Lighter From Here, in partnership with the Birmingham Culture Central. During her undergraduate years at HKBU, several opportunities had come alumna Ho’s way that allowed her to delve into different fields of music. The exposure had made her an all-rounded musician and paved her road to work professionally as a concert pianist, répétiteur and composer. |
