Science Alumni Share Experience in Railway Industry
On 4 November 2017, Faculty of Science organised an Alumni Sharing Session entitled “Career in Railway Profession” in collaboration with Baptist Chemists, Civil Engineering Graduates Association, Department of Computer Science Alumni Association and Alumni Association of Department of Mathematics. The Session drew over 80 audience.
The event was honoured by the presence of Associate Dean of Science Prof. Chris Wong, Acting Head of Department of Chemistry Dr. Shiu Kwok-keung, Vice-President of Baptist Chemists alumnus Chris Yu and President of Department of Computer Science Alumni Association alumnus Mak Cheuk-kiu.
Four Science alumni currently working for the MTR Corporation Limited were invited to share their experience and insights about the industry. They were Mark Chan (Mathematics), Operations Planning Manager; Ricky Chan (Computer Science), Analyst Programmer I; Emily Ho (Chemistry), Shift Station Master, and Ken Wong (Civil Engineering), General Manager – Projects. In addition, Head of Department of Computer Science Dr. William Cheung Kwok-Wai was invited to be the moderator. Participants were interested in knowing more about the railway sector and the career prospects in this field.
