Career Development Seminar “Financial Analyst – an Insider’s Story”

HKBUAA held the third Career Development Seminar themed “Financial Analyst – an Insider’s Story” for Mentoring Programme 2016-17 at Sir Run Run Shaw Building on 14 January. The seminar was co-organised with School of Business Alumni Association, which was attended by around 25 alumni and students.

At the seminar, veteran financial analyst, book author and HKBU part-time lecturer, alumnus Dr. Alex Tang (DBA), shared with participants his experience as financial analyst and tips for managing financial investments. He recommended the participants to apply Gann’s trading rules when managing their portfolio in order to minimize investment loss. In addition, Dr. Tang forecasted the performance of equity market in 2017. Everyone enjoyed the seminar and had a fruitful afternoon.

Golf Gathering

A golf gathering was held in Mission Hills Golf Club on 24 January with 20 alumni across different departments and year of graduation getting together to have happy golfing. After rounds of game in a sunny day, alumni had a nice dinner together, creating more fond memories.

BBQ Gathering

A BBQ gathering was held on 14 January, with participation of around 15 alumni and friends. Everyone shared anecdotes about their lives and works. The gathering ended in a marvellous atmosphere.

Monthly Happy Hour Gathering

The first Monthly Happy Hour Gathering of HKBUAA in 2017 was held on 18 January at Tastings Wine Bar, Central. Around 15 alumni graduating from various departments attended the event to get to know each other, sharing their happy moments and celebrating the happy new year together.

The next happy hour gathering is in collaboration with School of Business Alumni Association and will be held on 20 February at the Law Society of Hong Kong in Central. The coming event is a Finance Salon, in which speakers will depict the Equity and FX markets outlook in 2017. For details and registration, please click here.
