Sponsoring Young Scientist Challenge Cup 2014-15 to Nurture Talents
Being one of the sponsored projects of HKBU Century Club Sponsorship Scheme 2014, the Young Scientist Challenge Cup 2014-15 was successfully organised by Faculty of Science on 8 January 2015. Director and Patron of the Club alumna Esther Wong May-wai attended the event as Guest of Honour and presented prizes to the award winners.
This year, undergraduate students from different programmes formed teams of three to five to present their innovative proposals to address “Fighting Antimicrobial Resistance”. The winning team was assessed by a panel of judges based on their scientific merits, novel approaches and presentation skills.
Running in its fourth year, the competition aims to encourage students to put into practice their inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary science knowledge, nurture their leadership and organisational skills, strengthen team spirit and problem solving abilities, enhance communication and presentation skills and inspire creativity.
With an aim of rendering continuous contribution to the University’s betterment and sustainable development, HKBU Century Club launched the Century Club Sponsorship Scheme in 2008 to provide financial support to academic and student development projects.
