Chaired by alumnus Prof. Sunny Wong, the Tenth Meeting of the Alumni Committee of the HKBU Foundation was held on 18 November. It was also the last meeting of the Committee of the current term from 2018 to 2020.
Following the sharing on the latest development of Faculty of Arts by Prof. Mette Hjort, Dean of Faculty of Arts, members exchanged views on the Committee’s new initiatives which aim at improving cohesiveness among alumni. Prof. Gordon Tang, Director of Student Affairs, also attended the meeting to discuss with members on ways to enhance the connection between alumni and students.
The Alumni Committee hosted a dinner on campus after the meeting to bid farewell to Associate Vice-President (Engagement) Mr. C K Yeung, who is retiring by the end of the year, and thank members of the current term for their efforts and contributions. President Roland Chin showed up at the dinner, giving a surprise to Mr. Yeung and members. He expressed his appreciation to members and Mr. Yeung for their service to the University through his vote of thanks at the gathering.
