Alumna Dr. Cathy Lui is Listed Top 10 Innovators Under 35 in Asia Pacific
Alumna Dr. Cathy Lui (Biology) has been listed as top 10 Innovators under the age of 35 in the Asia Pacific Region for 2019 by MIT Technology Review. Alumna Lui is the Senior Research Associate of Department of Biology as well as the CEO of OPER Technology Limited which is a biotechnology start-up company spun off from HKBU. She was recognised for her research and innovation in the field of biotechnology and medicine. This was the first time that innovators from Hong Kong were able to apply and received recognition on the list. Congratulations to alumna Lui! |

School of Business Alumni Achieve Remarkable Results at ACCA Examinations
ACCA Hong Kong organised a Top Achievers Celebration Reception 2017-18 on 13 November to honour and celebrate the outstanding achievements of top achievers who got remarkable results at ACCA examinations. Among these top achievers, there are five alumni from HKBU School of Business: Chin Jia-xin, Ho Sze-yin, Au Yiu-chung, Yeung Chui-mei and Ho Yiu-sang.
Alumnus Bernard Wu (Accounting) and Dr. Man Ko, Senior Lecturer of Department of Accountancy and Law joined the event to show their support. Head of ACCA Hong Kong Jane Cheng, who is also one of the HKBU alumni, was glad to meet with representatives and alumni from her alma mater. |

40th Anniversary Reunion Dinner of Business Graduates Class of 1978
Business alumni from the Class of 1978 came back to campus and celebrated their 40th anniversary. Marking the 40th year since their graduation, the Business graduates of class of 1978 organized a reunion gathering on 23 October at the Renfrew Restaurant to mark this memorable occasion and reconnect old buddies. Over 53 alumni and friends, with some of them coming all the way from overseas to attend this memorable evening. Director of Alumni Affairs Dr. Melanie Lee was also invited to give a short presentation at the dinner to introduce to them the latest development of the University and thank them for their support to alma mater over the years. |

Alumni in Northeastern United States Hold Their First-ever Lunch Get-together
Alumnus Simon Ho (Chinese Language and Literature), who resides in New York, hosted the first-ever gathering for alumni residing in Northeastern United States at New East Ocean Palace in New York on 15 November. Participating alumni included Chak Men-fan (Business Management), Chow Kwok-yim (Accounting), Simon Ho, Kuk Sing-ping (Chinese Language & Literature), Lai Suk-kwan (Business Management), Shiu See-ching (Sociology), Teresa Wong (Chinese Language & Literature), David Yu (Mathematics), and Yuen Wah-cheong (Accounting).
They all had a wonderful time knowing each other and sharing their fond memories of their school days at HKBU. They look forward to keeping close connection with each other and the alma mater.
