The Department of History has rolled out a series of activities to celebrate its 40th Anniversary in 2018. As a finale of the celebration, the Department of History and the Alumni Affairs Office jointly hosted a Homecoming Evening on 1 December to welcome hundreds of alumni and guests on campus.
Over 300 of alumni graduating in different years spanning from 1970s to 2017, students, current, retired, and former faculty members, as well as University management spent a cozy evening to reunite and re-connect again.
At his welcome remarks, President Roland Chin shared the latest development on HKBU’s Institutional Strategic Plan and showcased some of the achievements by alumni for the betterment of society.
Attending alumni and guests were amused by fun-filled activities including exhibitions, singing performance, instant photo-taking booth, lucky draws and games. The dinner reached its climax with the drama specially designed and directed by alumna Lo Koon-lan. Featuring ancient history scholars through dancing and light show, the play reinforced the spirit of education and the importance of cultural inheritance.
To commemorate the important milestone of the Department, Prof. Clara Ho, Head of the Department called for the continuous support from alumni to nurture the next generations. |
