Organised by the Alumni Affairs Office and sponsored by the Hong Kong Baptist University Alumni Association (HKBUAA), the Alumni Soccer Seven, which was part of the Homecoming Day activities, was successfully held at the Joint Sports Centre on 24 November. The event received an overwhelming response from over 200 alumni and staff, forming 20 teams competing in the Challenge Cup, Open and Advance Divisions. It has been a popular and important activity in the HKBU alumni community, with many of them coming all the way from overseas and Mainland China to participate.
The kick-off ceremony and prize presentation ceremony of Challenge Cup were officiated by Mr. Edmund Li, Director of Finance, Prof. Chung Pak-kwong, Professor of Department of Sport and Physical Education, Mr. Alex Leung, President of HKBUAA, and Mr. Tyrone Siu, Honorary Member of the Court. The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Ricky Wong, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) cum Academic Registrar who presented prizes to the winning teams of Open and Advance Divisions. In appreciation of the contribution of the Soccer Seven Organizing Committee, including alumni Jason Mok (Chemistry), Roger Xue (Mathematics; Scientific Computing) and Tim Leung (Physical Education and Recreation Management), over the years, they were presented souvenirs by Mr. Edmund Li.
