Mr. David Fong, BBS, JP Receives SFU Outstanding Alumni Award |

Mr. David Fong, HKBU’s Honorary Court Member and Managing Director of Hip Shing Hong Group in Hong Kong, received an Outstanding Alumni Award for Service to the Community from Simon Fraser University (SFU) at the SFU President’s alumni and friends reception held in Central on 8 November. SFU has a long-standing partnership with HKBU, including a student exchange programme for both universities.
At the award presentation, Mr. Fong shared the story of his remarkable career overseeing a billion-dollar property development company while infusing his family’s philanthropic values to benefit numerous communities across the world. He is a proponent for redefining education, socio-economic development and social services.

In Memory of Dr. Hui Yin-fat, OBE, JP
The University is profoundly saddened by the passing of Dr. Hui Yin-fat, Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa, on 7 December. He was 80 years old.
Dr. Hui was a benevolent patriarchal figure also in society. Apart from his substantial and generous contribution to HKBU, Dr. Hui Yin-fat will always be remembered as an outstanding pioneering social work leader in Hong Kong, with a strong dedication to the development of social work education. The University offers sincere condolences to Dr. Hui’s family.
