The Department of Social Work hosted a Noon-time Dialogue “Rights of Mentally Handicapped Persons” on 22 November at HKBU campus. Over 60 students and faculty staff attended the seminar.
Legislative Council member alumnus Dr. the Honourable Fernando Cheung (Social Work) was cordially invited as the speaker of the seminar, in which he shared his view on the rights of mentally handicapped persons. He also revealed the current state of special needs education and social services of mentally handicapped adults, as well as the future development of rehabilitation and long-term care for them in Hong Kong.
